Do you endeavor to turn around a poorly-performing employee before dismissing him or her?

Jesus said, "The Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10 NASB).

Following the Lord's example, we need to maintain an attitude of developing staff and helping them become productive employees.

The easier approach may be to casually dismiss a poorly performing person, but the best approach is to try to improve performance first.

Take time to establish what the person must do to be successful. Offer tips, coaching, and mentoring. Give regular feedback.

Many employees who you attempt to help will strive to keep their jobs and build your company.
